The Goals of UPCI Singles

SAM - Single Adult Ministries

The Singles Adult Web Site for the United Pentecostal Church can be found here or by visiting www.upci.org and choosing the Singles selection under the Sunday School Division link. There are a number of articles including one by Debbie Foster Saiz who is the Singles Adult Ministry director. Debbie reports the speific groups SAM focuses upon they are:

Ministry to the Young Adults in their Twenties and Thirties

Many in this vast group are choosing to establish their career paths before marriage. A thriving Single Young Adult Ministry can provide a supportive atmosphere for this growing group, godly and scriptural advice on dating and relationships, and encouragement to seek the will of God for their lives. We must release them to discover and follow God’s plan for their lives.

Ministry to the Widow or Widower
When one becomes single again through death, the grieving process is a crucial and critical time. The widow or widower needs the church as never before. A strong Single Adult Ministry can become a support system to help begin the healing process and help them to live again.

Ministry to the Divorced
The divorced person faces so many different challenges and issues. A Single Adult Ministry can provide Divorce Recovery Workshops, helping the divorced to find healing and direction in their lives.

Ministry to Single Parents
Single parents need encouragement as well as help with their children. When we look at the number of single-parent households in the United States, we understand why the church must step forward to minister to their needs.Total single-father households: 1.8 million. Total single-mother households: 7.6 million,
